The Truth About the Manjaro Diet

-Crime and Punishment-

Introduction

In recent years, we have been hearing more and more about the "Manjaro Diet." The use of Manjaro, a diabetes medication, for weight loss purposes has been spreading mainly on the internet and social media. However, behind this fad lies a serious problem that is not well known to the general public.

This book was written to sound the alarm about this situation and to provide readers with accurate information. It explains, in as easy-to-understand a manner as possible, the risks associated with off-label use of prescription drugs and what to do if you should encounter any problems.

Of particular note is the existence of Zepbound, which went on sale in Japan in April 2025. This drug has been officially approved as a drug indicated for the treatment of obesity. This means that medically appropriate obesity treatment drugs are now available in Japan.

Due to this change in circumstances, it has become much easier for medical professionals to prove a breach of duty of care when prescribing and using diabetes medications such as Rybelsus and Ozempic for weight loss purposes solely for economic reasons or convenience. It has become extremely difficult to justify choosing an off-label medication when appropriate medications are available.

Even more serious are the cases of SGLT2 inhibitors (such as Canaglu, Farxiga, and Jardiance) and metformin. These drugs have not been approved for use in treating obesity, and their effectiveness in weight loss is known to be limited. Nevertheless, if they are prescribed with exaggerated advertising of their effectiveness, doctors risk being charged with fraud in addition to violating the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Act.

It is important for medical professionals to remember that the statute of limitations for such illegal conduct is at least three years. The excuses of "because everyone else is doing it" or "because it hasn't been an issue before" are no longer valid. Now that a legitimate obesity treatment called ZepBound is available, the legal liability for continued off-label use is clearer.

In this book, we have endeavored to explain these medical and legal issues in simple language so that general readers can understand them. Whenever technical terms are used, they are always accompanied by annotations (as in Note 1), and detailed explanations are provided at the end of each chapter. Please feel free to read this book.

We hope that this book will be of some help to you in ensuring your health and safety, and in protecting your right to appropriate medical care.
